Healing Head FAQs

Frequently Asked Question

1. What can I expect during my first therapy session?

Your first session is designed to help you share what brings you to therapy and what you hope to achieve. We’ll explore your background, discuss current concerns, and begin identifying goals.

Individual sessions are generally 50 minutes. Couples and family sessions may last 60–75 minutes depending on needs and scheduling. Extended sessions can be arranged if clinically appropriate.

Frequency depends on your goals and progress. Many clients begin with weekly sessions and transition to bi-weekly or monthly maintenance sessions as they develop greater stability and independence.

With Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), a treatment episode can often be completed within approximately 12 sessions. However, every individual’s situation and needs are unique. Some clients may reach their goals in fewer sessions, while others may benefit from a longer course of treatment or additional modalities.

Healing Head Therapy provides a variety of evidence-based and integrative approaches, including:
• Solution-Focused Therapy – Highlights strengths and solutions rather than problems, promoting practical progress.
• Strategic Family Therapy – Focuses on improving family communication patterns and problem-solving dynamics.
• EMDR Resourcing – Utilizes Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing strategies to promote trauma recovery and emotional stabilization.
• Personality Disorder Treatment and Management – Evidence-based interventions for emotional regulation, identity stability, and healthy relationships.
• Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – Encourages mindfulness, self-compassion, and values-based living.
• Gottman Method – Research-based couples therapy that strengthens friendship, intimacy, and communication skills within relationships.

Each treatment plan is customized to your unique needs, personality, and life goals.
